“Paving the Way” Scholarship Fundraiser predicted to set precedent
Seattle, WA- February 24th 2010- University of Washington’s Undergraduate Women in Business (UWiB) is busy getting final details in order for its upcoming scholarship fundraiser and silent auction. The Third Annual “Paving the Way” Scholarship Fundraiser on March 2nd at the UW Club on University of Washington’s Seattle Campus is set to commence at 5:30 PM, with an impressive guest list of corporate sponsors, influential community leaders, and respected UW faculty and staff.
UWiB is awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving student member during the Fundraiser on Tuesday. Scholarship and leadership development are the core values of Undergraduate Women in Business, and all profits from the night’s silent auction and dessert dash will support UWiB’s scholarship fund.
Kandace Beck, UWiB’s scholarship recipient from last year, will address the guests, and reflect on how her involvement with UWiB and the scholarship award has shaped her education and future. The fundraiser will also include Martha Fuller as keynote speaker. Fuller, who is EVP, Finance and CFO of Vulcan Inc. is also Undergraduate Women in Business’s “Woman of the Year.”
Undergraduate Women in Business is expanding in both its membership and support. President Felicia Widjaja asserts that “our cause is expanding, and we’re pleased with the growing support—“Paving the Way” fits into our vision of having a scholarship endowment in future, which would ensure the sustainability of our scholarship fund and mission to promote the further advancement of women in business.”
UWiB would like to thank their corporate sponsors; without corporate support the fundraiser and scholarship fund would not exist.
