Nordstrom Internships

For those of you who missed our fabulous Winter Quarter Kick-Off with Laurie Black and Toni Driver, you might be wanting the 411 on Nordstrom Internsips. Toni Driver from Nordstrom gave a brief overview on their prestigious Retail Internship Program- here are the hilites:

• the Nordstrom Retail Internship Program selects current junior and senior college students (preference to those in Retail Management, Merchandising Management or Fashion Merchandising)
• the program runs from June 15- August 13 2010
• Internships are available at both Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations in the greater Seattle area

Here’s what you could expect as an intern at a Nordstrom store:

• working in a selling department and reporting directly to a selling manger
• at least 80% of your time will be spent selling, learning about products, the selling process and the customer

Here’s what you could expect as an intern at a Nordstrom rack store:

• working in a Rack store, reporting directly to the store manager
• rotating through all merchandising areas in order to learn all aspects of the Rack business

All interns will:

• work with the regional Learning and Development manager to cover a variety of topics
• be expected to complete on the job learning projects designed to provide hands on experience in the above topics
• gain insight into a variety of career paths at Nordstrom, from buying to store management
